Title: Verification Challenges & Solutions of 10BaseT1s Automotive Ethernet PHY

Language: English

Abstract— Automotive industry uses a bunch of different networks in vehicles such as LIN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, Ethernet. Current Ethernet technology employed in vehicles is point-to-point and bridging different network types requires complex gateways. 10BaseT1s can replace these legacy networks because it eliminates the need of gateways, switches and cables. It has a different architecture as it uses the multidrop (bus) topology to connect multiple nodes using a single twisted pair cable. Thus,
reducing the overall system cost. Transceiver is introduced to ethernet for the first time along with 10BaseT1s. Transceiver reduces the number of pins, reducing the cost and size of chip. Thus, it is important to touch upon the verification aspects of these protocols.
